Sonor 70’s Vintage 5 X 14” Snare Drum. This Sonor shell came to Doc in terribly rough shape with several patches of pitted chrome and carved initials. (see photo). In order to save this FERROMANGANESE seamless steel shell, it was sand blasted and powder coated to a shiny black appearance. The technician also took great care to keep the bearing edges in a pristine condition. Doc put tube lugs, a Ludwig internal muffler, 2.33 triple flange drum hoops, and a Worldmax S12 Piston driven strainer. This shell yields a sound somewhere between a wooden and traditional steel one. Remo Ambassador heads affords one warm approach to any style of music. A substantial weighty instrument.
